Farnsworth Freelance offers several types of editing and writing:
The first 2–5 pages of your manuscript are free, included as part of a quote for the entire manuscript. Please see Submission Guidelines for details.
Substantive and Developmental Editing
This type of editing involves editing the “substance” of the project. For a novel, this type of editing would look at the development of plot, characters, setting, and other story elements. For a nonfiction project, this would include the organization of the content and consistency in voice.
Copyediting examines sentence structure, word usage, grammar, and punctuation. It is what most people think of when they think about editing. This type of editing also includes examining readability and its ability to communicate to the intended audience.
When auto correct and the spell checker have failed you one too many times, you may need a proofreader. Proofreading is a thorough reading of the document for punctuation and spelling errors—particularly those who want “Dessert and Drink Pairings” instead of “Desert and Drink Pear Rings.”
Whether you need a filler post for your blog, content for a website, or a pamphlet for your store, I’m ready and happy to assist you. Farnsworth Freelance does not currently write technical documents.
Fiction writing services such as anthology entries or ghost writing may be available on a project-to-project basis.
